Hello.  My name is Ruth Barrera and I am the owner and creator of The Happy Skull Studio™.

I am a full time artist and maker of happy, colorful art.  I have worked as a graphic artist in the Apparel Industry for 11 years creating designs for Juniors, Kids and Men.  I currently live in Los Angeles, California where I work from my small home studio.  

The Happy Skull Studio™ was created in 2015 as a way to share my love of color, latina culture and happy art.   Much of my inspiration comes from Day of the Dead, Frida Kahlo, Kawaii art and the colorful culture of my mother and father.   I love being creative and constantly learning new crafts and techniques.  Some of my current obsessions are painting mini peg dolls and working on mixed media wood pieces.  Being creative is part of my daily life and it makes me so happy to able to share it with you.
